Funding received from private foundations
Friday 9 December 2021 I received funding for the clinical project Current practices and long-term outcome of myocardial revascularization. The research project is initiated in collaboration with researchers from Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden.
A total of 494,415 DKK was received from Inge og Asker Larsens Fond (200,000 DKK), Jens Anker Andersen Fonden (124,415 DKK), A. P. Møller Fonden – Fonden til Lægevidenskabens Fremme (100,000 DKK), Ketty og Ejvind Lyngsbæks Fond (50,000 DKK), Familien Hede Nielsens Fond (10,000 DKK), and Carl og Ellen Hertz’s legat (10,000 DKK).
The grants are to be used for the project, where we are investigating current myocardial revascularization practices, including the use of conventional coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery, minimally invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) surgery, off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery through a J-shaped hemisternotomy (JOPCAB), and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Denmark and Sweden. Furthermore, we want to compare the long-term outcome of these revascularisation strategies.
